The Gatlinburg Space Needle

Gatlinburg Space NeedleIf you’ve been to Gatlinburg TN I know you’ve seen it. It’s the most recognizable landmark in all of Downtown Gatlinburg. No it’s not the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, even though it is very prominent. It’s the Gatlinburg Space Needle jutting more than 400 feet in to the sky.

While the Space Needle includes a Family Fun Center featuring a roller coaster simulator, laser tag and other arcade games, the view is what everybody is really after at the Space Needle. The Needle features a 360 degree panoramic view of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountain National Park. While the Needle itself is more than 400 feet tall with the antenna, the viewing platform is at 342 feet. But don’t worry that’s plenty high enough to get a great view of everything happening in Gatlinburg.

Of course you don’t want to forget your camera. Prices are children 6-12 $2.50, ages 13-61 $6.75 and 62 and over is $4.50. Children under 6 are free, if you can get them up on the thing. The ticket includes a ride the next day after purchase before closing. The view of Gatlinburg is even more spectacular by night.

See you at the Gatlinburg Space Needle.
