Ripley’s Aquarium Of The Smokies in Gatlinburg Tennessee is one of the most popular attractions within the city. The Aquarium is home to more than 10,000 different sea animals and creatures which makes the population of sea life here more than the people population of Gatlinburg.
The 1.4 million gallon aquarium features everything from killer sharks, to piranhas, to horseshoe crabs, to exotic tropical fish, to stingrays and much more. Its exhibits include a tropical rain forest featuring 2,000 species of fish, the Ocean Realm, the Systems Control Center, a Coral Reef featuring the world’s most exotic and colorful fish, Shark Lagoon featuring the world’s largest underwater acrylic tunnel, the Discovery Center featuring many of interactive displays and lots more.
The aquarium is a fun family attraction for everyone and there are even special educational programs for kids including camps, workshops and even a sleepover in the tunnel with the sharks.
Ripley’s Aquarium is located right on Hwy 441 at light number 5 in Downtown Gatlinburg. Ticket prices are $18.90 for adults, $9.99 for children, $3.29 for children 2-5 and $17.78 for seniors.
